The numbers
My Softway salary was 3 LPA. At the same time, I was making roughly $2,000 a month from AdSense and CPA. That was about five times my salary.
The counter-offer
I told my managers I was leaving. They offered to double my salary to 6 LPA. Even double was less than half of what I was making online, and I had already made up my mind.
My parents
My parents pushed back a little. But they trust me, and they knew the money was real: I had paid my final-year engineering fees myself, from AdSense. So they supported me and let me work, learn and grow in Hyderabad. They still support me today.
Good terms
I left Softway in September 2017. I’m still in touch with my old team lead and colleagues, and I cherish those memories.
